WELCOME TO NORTHWESTERN WISCONSIN!

ABOUT NORTHWESTERN WISCONSIN

Enjoy the clear blue lakes, peaceful rivers, expansive forests, and all the recreational activities that span Burnett, Washburn, Polk and Douglas Counties.

Northwestern Wisconsin is full of year around recreational opportunities centered around the water and the woods. Hundreds of lakes, many rivers, streams and large and small wetlands dominate the landscape. All of the water is flowing toward the St. Croix River, which forms the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Our lakes are mostly seepage lakes with sandy bottoms and clear water. They vary in size with the average being about 100 acres – each with its own charm.

The land in Burnett, Washburn, Polk and Douglas Counties is open and wooded and has upland and lowland with hardwoods and pine. Season to season, there are many activities for second home owners and residents alike. Festivals, events, live music, farmer’s markets and sports competitions are always easy to find.

Spring and summer are spent on the water – fishing, boating and canoeing. Off the water, discover opportunities for hiking, biking, golfing and riding the ATV trails. Fall brings a kaleidoscope of colors with changing leaves and cooler weather for hiking, hunting and ATV riding. Winter snowfall brings snowmobiling on hundreds of miles of trails as well as cross country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.

It’s easy to get here, but with our many resources and unspoiled environment of peace and quiet, it will be hard to leave. Whether you’re looking for a second home getaway or a place to live, our portion of Northwestern Wisconsin is a special place. Let us help you find the perfect waterfront home or cabin or a beautiful piece of hunting land so you can be a part of something special too!
