Signs of Spring in Northwestern WI

The water is higher than ever this Spring and we’re seeing and hearing all kinds of different things because of it. This culvert normally sits dry, with no water at all. Now, it’s like a rushing creek! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIGfPWjGGfA

Another jubilant sign that we’re on the cusp of Spring is singing frogs!!! Pass by a wetland area and you can hear a chorus of sounds that brings a wide smile to your face. Have a listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cxXenwfTtg

The high water is providing a great source of habitat for the water fowl and birds that return for the summer. The swans are back along with the geese and beautiful varieties of ducks. These cranes have found a great place to fish for an afternoon snack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FZEVrrFOps
